Over the last few years, I have had a good time at ITVfest, meeting creators and discovering a lot of up-and-coming content (including great shows like Urban Wolf and Oz Girl). But this year, the festival is under new management, and has been subject to some controversy, with one key moment…
Party Down returns for a new season as a web series. The crew has figured out that the web series industry generates a nonstop stream of people who will dump their money and time into anything that has a red carpet and a hired photographer. They pounce on this goldmine by reorganizing the catering company to work exclusively for web series launches, parties and awards shows.
Paul Scheer joins the cast as the staff photographer. The production budget is increased to allow for the purchase of a $139 red carpet.
Bonus features include the first episodes from fictional series that throw launch parties they can’t afford and fizzle out soon afterward.
